Therapy Science or Physiotherapy is a medical science that uses a physical approach to restore and maintain the natural body movement and the function in an injured or disabled patient. Physiotherapists are experts in human movement and have a key role in prevention, identification, assessment, treatment and (re)habilitation of individuals when movement and function are threatened or affected by ageing, injury, diseases, conditions or environmental factors.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Diagnose and assess patients’ physical conditions.
- Devise and review treatment programmes using manual therapy (such as massage), therapeutic exercise and electrotherapy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide the best treatment.
- Maintain and update patient records and documents.
- Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Test and measure patient’s strength, motor development and fun
