Macy’s slate blue eyes riveted at the happy people shopping for the Christmas tree, gifts and decorations as she glanced through the window pane of the store. She kept staring at the children buying sweets and chocolates. How much she wanted to have all this for herself. If only she had a home and family to go to, she signed.
Disappointed, she sat down on the pavement watching the decorated streets and homes, her eyes locked on like magnets at the children passing with loads of gifts in their hands.
Suddenly, she sensed the warmth of a home. She could feel the softness of a bed and not the hard pavement. As she woke up she saw herself surrounded by gifts and a beautifully decorated Christmas Tree. She was in a home. It was her home.
Suddenly it dawned on her that her nightmare had ended. She had loving parents and siblings. She had a family.
It was a year now since the day she was found sleeping on the pavement by her foster parents on Christmas Day. It had indeed been a Dream Christmas for her.
