In the hallway, she saw a long corridor with several doors leading off it. Everything in the hall was covered in dust, as though no one had touched it for a hundred years.
Alice was wondering if her journey covering hundreds of miles and fighting countless emotions will be fruitful. Will she find what she is looking for here? She started doubting her chances of finding any clue about her parents and siblings.
But she desperately needed to find out about her roots, find out more about the place she belonged. Until now, she had never fathomed that she will come searching for what she believed had no significance in her life. She was very happy with her foster parents who had looked after her all these years. She will be forever indebted to them for the life they had given her. But destiny had other plans for her.
She had never thought she would seek her siblings ever. She never wanted to come in a quest to look for parents who had abandoned her. But her wish to live longer had got her here. She had fought hard against her own wishes. However, she needed that bone marrow for a transplant to save her from the life-threatening disease. This was her only chance. They owed that much to her.
Hoping she would find some clue; she headed towards the closed doors, looking for the unknown.
The popular quote, ‘who can resist when destiny calls?’ fits perfectly here. Hopefully, she finds answer to all her questions. 🙂
Thanks Roy

Great story Aesha. The past came lurking back.Liked that you named her Alice…
That’s a nice twist at the end, Aesha. Liked the way how the story flowed with ease, towards a conclusion.
Superbly done, Aesha. Wonder if she would ever find an answer. She never felt the need to go back in search of an answer but past had a way to find her.
Thanks a lot Priya. Tell Tale Thursday prompts is giving me confidence to write more plus I am also able to understand my shortcomings and trying to improve. But most importantly I am enjoying this process.
